Dorignac’s is looking for qualified people who want to be part of the long-standing customer service oriented history of this iconic New Orleans grocery store!  Please complete an application to begin the process. Our store is open from 7:00am-9:00pm.  Applications may be completed at the store or dropped off any time during those hours.

All applicants must be able to pass background checks including drug and alcohol screens.

 

We are currently filling the below position:

 

 

COOK (Full-time)

Must have experience in large batch commercial/institutional cooking.  Must be able to follow recipes and cook from scratch.  Able to work evenings until approximately 7:00-8:00pm.

 

 

FRY COOK (Full-time)

This position will work from 5:00am-1:00pm on Sunday and Mondays.  Sometimes you may work a little later on these days.  When coming in at 5am, you are responsible for cooking breakfast for the store.  You then shift to fry, work the rotisserie foods, and stock the prepared foods.  When working other days of the week, you will work approximately 8am-5pm or 9am-6pm.

 

 

DAIRY STOCKER (Full-time)

No overnight work.  Must be able to reach over your head to stock, sit on the floor to stock, push a couple of hundred pounds on a cart, pull a couple of hundred pounds on a cart, work in both hot and cold environments, lift up to 50 pounds, be on your feet for long periods of time (up to 4 or 5 hours at a time).  Prior grocery stocking experience preferred.

 

 

ASST. DELI MANAGER (Full-time)

Must have prior experience working in a deli as well as supervisory experience.  Must have open availability.

 

 

ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER

Must have prior experience managing staff in a grocery store environment, preferably an independent grocery.  Must be able to work very flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, early mornings, nights.

 

 

ASSISTANT GROCERY DEPARTMENT MANAGER

Must have prior experience in a center store department.  Strongly prefer candidates with supervisory experience.

 

 

BAGGER (Full-time, 30-40 hours per week)

The ideal candidates will have top notch customer service skills, have a positive, upbeat attitude, have a neat, clean appearance, be able to stand on their feet for long periods of time, be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

 

MEAT DEPARTMENT / FORKLIFT DRIVER (Full-time)

Must be willing to work in all types of conditions – hot, cold, rain, humidity, wind, etc.  Being outside on the forklift can be very hot in the summer.  Working the cooler is an extremely cold job.  You have to be able to lift up to 50-60 pounds, stoop, bend, sit, stand, reach, squat.  You will be required to do other work in the department such as working in the cooler, stocking the cold wall and assisting customers.

 

MEAT DEPARTMENT STAFF – CLERK, CUTTER, SPECIAL CUTS (Full-time)

Accepting applications for all meat department positions.  Prior experience required for cutter. Prior experience preferred for special cuts and clerk.

 

BAKERY COUNTER (Full-time)

Assist customers with selections, package products, rotate products, stock shelves, clean work area, check out customers on the register, ability to work weekends and holidays.  Must be able to work weekends and the closing shift until 8:00pm.

 

FLORAL DESIGNER (Full-time)

Experience designing, making corsages, etc.  able to work any hours between 7:00am-9:00pm with most work needed until 6:00pm.  Must be able to work Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.  A license is not necessary.
